A Sad Story With No Happy Ending

After six decades of grief and suffering, anger and Murder, our country has finally, finally been set on the correct path to a real world solution to the abortion nightmare thanks to a guy named Alito who appears to be the smartest guy in the United States. Justice Alito took the issue out of the protective custody of the Supreme Court and threw it to We the People in fifty states where the Correct Answer will be made clear soon enough.

The Correct Answer

Legislation that will restrict abortion to the first 4 to 6 weeks of pregnancy.

NO ONE WILL EVER GET RID OF ABORTION. It will always be around. The only way to come close to stopping abortion is to set up a police state where Every Woman from 12 years old to 50+ years is tested every week for pregnancy. All pregnant women will required to carry the baby to delivery – except for serious medical problems. Any woman who doesn’t co-operate will be put in jail for nine months until the baby is born. If that is what pro-life people want then they should say so.

We have endured the overwrought rhetoric, behavior and street actions from both sides on this issue for decades and I think people are just weary of it. Perhaps Justice Alito was tuned in when he ‘just cut the crap’ and got us on the way to a workable solution. This could have been done thirty years ago – if the pro-life people would just allow reality to happen rather than flail away at the grand slam fantasy of total abolition of abortion. Let me explain. The most irritating trait of the pro-life crowd is their utter inability to see that each in-your-face action they take to end abortion gets an equal and opposite response from the pro-death side. The more aggressive the action the more extreme is the response. Somehow it never occurs to pro-lifers to STOP shouting and flailing with signs – and losing, and use your brain to win.

Thirty years ago, we could simply have put in place legislation (note – not any judicial ORDER) to restrict abortion to the first 26 weeks of a pregnancy. Pro-life people would have been furious, but what we are after is the effect on the general situation IN THE LONG RUN. Put such a law into effect and let people live with it. This is rocket science to the pro-life crowd, way over their heads. What do you suppose would have happened? Abortions would continue almost the same as before, but the late term butchery would have been stopped and the ‘heroes’ who made their money on that inhuman enterprise would have gotten employment elsewhere. People would have noticed that the issue continued to simmer, but at a slower boil. Let three years pass and check in on the national mood. Pro-life people would not be happy and pro-death people would be itching to kill more babies. But stories about women who decided to go through with pregnancies they were not entirely thrilled with would be in the news – quietly.

So next we adjust the law to make abortion illegal after the 20^th week. And right off the bat we would have gotten a lot of hollering and commotion from both sides, pro-life people griping that babies are still being murdered and pro-death people getting uncomfortable with that sunshine breaking through on the horizon.

We continue with this scheme. Let  people live with the 20 week limit for 2-3 years and we hear more stories of women deciding to carry a pregnancy to birth rather than kill off the baby. We would also hear about women who – GOT AN ABORTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after they found out they were pregnant. The entire society would have caught on to the plain truth that the pro-life people are on the side of sane, compassionate behavior and the pro-death side are on the side of – death. Fast forward through abortion restrictions going to 16 weeks – 4 months, then 12 weeks then down to ten or eight weeks . All the while the pro-death people would be caterwauling about the ‘human tragedy’ being forced on women, and women who decide to abort a pregnancy would be getting wised up to doing the abortion as soon as the pregnancy happens. As time passes and people get familiar with plain, honest, sensible social behavior the abortion issue would have dwindled away like the wicked witch of the west. In the space of 16 to 20 years we could have defeated the socialist rat mob and their mass murder spree.

Where we are now as Justice Alito knows very well is – various states LEGISLATING various approaches to the problem of unwanted pregnancy and the Right to Life that the Declaration announced. And the final outcome will be, in 4 to 5 years, a general agreement among most state legislatures that around 4 – 6 weeks is the most rational way to deal with the problem. Some states will have stricter limits, others will have less strict limits. The main problem with all this is what the pro-life people could never figure out – THEY ARE RIGHT! Everyone knows it.  Some people never want to admit it but the evidence will just keep mounting up that the pro-life people are not extremists or obsessed crazies – their concern for helpless infants is NORMAL, NATURAL, it is SANE, it is HEALTHY, it is PRODUCTIVE and it is agreeable to a large majority of people in Our Country.  The Rat mob media has enjoyed a decades long run of vilifying pro-life people, boosting infanticide and getting weasels elected all over the country to do as much damage to our country as they possibly could, and it was totally unnecessary.

It was thoroughly frustrating to watch the whole sorry mess play out over decades in this ‘modern’ country. My nerve wracking adventure all this time was to watch the Rats use abortion as a ploy to poison the politics and the general culture, skewing votes in legislatures on many other issues that we have been forced to live with in a twisted version of what America actually is.

Now that Justice Alito has set the problem on the way to some agreeable resolution the Rats will not have abortion as a tool to get rotten people elected to state legislatures or into Congress and the hapless, useless Republican Party might be able to get majorities to bring our country back on the road to a future of Great Goodness. The Rats will have to come up with some kind of National electoral RIOT to maintain some grip on federal legislation and the Presidency – because they know they are going down, on the way to the ash heap of history. They are getting desperate.

This whole grinding saga has brought into my mind a sobering notion – THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY, AND IT HAS BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING. Hmm, I wonder what that Problem is.
