Character Assessment for New Members
To construct a foundation for this Party it is NECESSARY to have a guide, a plain and thorough procedure for examining applicants – their character and attitudes, opinions, understanding of Our Country, and how we govern ourselves. We are not looking for baking skills or carpentry skills or surfing skills. We are looking for Being Good skills. The ‘types’ and ‘kinds’ of people who will become the regular members will become clear over time, but here at the beginning it will take diligence and effort to accept in people of Goodness and Decency, Understanding and Accomplishment, and invite OUT people of mendacity, deceit, malevolence and connivance. One problem that will make the task more difficult is the malicious interference of the Rats – Democrats, Socialists, Republicrats etc. who will happily try to infiltrate into local groups to cause as much trouble as possible.
SO…. People are complicated with varying combinations of character traits. Sorting everything out for each new applicant won’t be easy – but it is necessary to get a good result – Excellent tent, not Big tent. We know that ‘personality’ and character are two different things and sizing up people requires us to focus on examining each person. I have started a list of character traits to be considered, and upgraded over time.
Character Traits
– An innate, D.N.A. , demonstrable knowledge of and agreement with the Fact and Truth of Goodness for its own sake . Goodness as enlivening and encouraging us to ADVANCE to a personal, living declaration and vow to direct our lives to Knowing Good and Being Good. All people are aware of good and bad, right and wrong but we are ‘convicted’ in the sure knowledge – in mind and in heart – that directing ourselves to Goodness every day is what life is about. People come in a range from Best to Worst and some people are limited in their appreciation of the crucial importance of honesty and the determination to live up to the Rules that Reality sets for Truth. Conservatives are right at home in that Reality. We like being Right, and we dislike those who like being Wrong, malicious, vicious, nasty, vile, deceitful and brutal.
– Admitting the difference between Being Good and being other than Good. While we don’t claim perfection we do understand that we are in a Reality that involves good and bad and we admit the truth that we must make a decision and commitment for Goodness and act on that commitment. All people are not created equal.
– Personal excellence and self respect. Conservatives practice a commitment to rightness, trustworthiness, reliability, and contribution – a life of Goodness, exact and complete.
– Determination and Contribution. We admit that a Good life requires EFFORT and we agree that the it is worthwhile. Constructing a life of goodness may not be an easy stroll but it will reward us with productivity and accomplishment in our lives, families, communities and – Our Country well done. Conservatives are not afraid of WORK, that four letter word that makes some people in this country ill at ease.
– Intelligence, acuity, learning, knowing, understanding, a find out attitude – are things that we enjoy. Realizing and admitting that our Sapiens existence involves a lifetime of building knowledge, mental competence and wisdom. We dislike clumsy minds and the people who parade them around. As we proceed in life we understand the requirement to practice a – heads up, wise up, look around and realize what is going on with people manner, and learn how Goodness is present in everything in which we get involved.
– Patience and Forbearance, our mild manner. We are not totalitarians. We respect others as potential Good and Decent people and we can give other people room to go ahead and make good happen. We do not tolerate or allow or endure wrong in any way and we also do not tolerate a lackadaisical attitude in ourselves. Being nice is NOT the same as Being Right.
For all kinds of people the interaction of all traits makes any simple, fixed procedure difficult to devise. Each case will be unique to some degree but over time a ‘regular’ procedure will develop. We are not trying to fill up a stadium as fast as possible. We are trying to build squads, platoons, companies, battalions and regiments of EXCELLENT characters who are worthy of respect and reliable for their contributions to family, community and Country.
Various ‘types’ of people will bring various attitudes about what is Good, and who is Good. A few ‘probmlem’ examples to help size up the situation.
– ‘nice’ Christians, as in Jesus said forgive the sinners and help the less fortunate and do unto others… so we should tolerate indifference, malice, abuse, connivance etc. so that we won’t be cranky, narrow-minded , hypocritical people. We will just have to learn to like living in an open sewer society. Well, Jesus also said to an unbeliever – it would be better for you if a millstone was put around your neck and you were thrown into the sea… and to those who spurned the Nazarene until they found out he was the Real Deal – I Know you not , and to those who opposed Him – they will be cast out to oblivion. We are looking for people who understand that Being Right is what matters , the ‘nice’ just comes along for the ride.
– ultra cool ‘modern’ Americans …. hey, whatever, anything goes so conservatives should just chill and get over their Righteous attitude thing. Until the crap show comes home to the ultra-cool kids – then it is time for Law and Order! … sure. A steady, reliable, regular approach to Goodness everywhere and all the time is our correct way to greet the world.
– sharp elbows, what’s your problem with it gang,, life is full of RAW people, with RAW attitudes, and RAW activities so we just have to put up with it and get used to it and go along with it …. in our world that provides us with overwhelming evidence that humanity advances toward the Best with the majority of people steering their lives toward a future of Goodness. The omnipresent entertainment, halfwit culture might seem to provide overwhelming evidence of crap culture domination – but that is entirely pop culture noise. The Reality of life in America is regular folks, living regular lives of sanity, decency, hard work and neighborly co-operation.
People are complicated. Assessing character is not a simple task. Each of us has a personal approach, likes or dislikes, for examining other people. The task is made more difficult when you consider that some people are malicious, deceitful and conniving.
AND, pay attention: Character traits, good or bad, come into play in all kinds of situations and are ‘brought out’ in particular, intense circumstances – which CAN LEAD to mistaken notions that some character trait or other is only a personal ‘ploy’ used to make a situation work out the way some person wants. In whatever situation or event happens people good or bad or neutral, will respond each in a personal way. But The Truth Will Out and taking into account all kinds of people Best, Worst and middling in all kinds of situations good, bad and ugly – The Best Will Prevail, not the Worst and ALSO NOT THE MIDDLE GROUP. While everyday people are living normal lives it is possible for bad people to put on a ‘good’ act and fake their way around in the community and nation. But the real character traits that various people have will come through in response to particular significant events. Innate character traits are ‘really true’ for each person, Good for Excellent people or Bad for rotten people. And for the Large middle crowd mediocrity might SEEM to be the right Reality – but they are WRONG, and Conservatives are Responsible for making that Truth UNAVOIDABLE in Our Country. For Conservatives different situations will bring out various Good traits with commitment to – Goodness for its own sake – ALWAYS our essential TRUE way of Being which leads and guides all of our virtues.
How will this all be put together to accomplish a political party? An Excellent America Party will need a structure that is built with local units supporting local office candidates AND state office candidates AND federal office candidates. With the internet capabilities we now have it is possible for people to get organized locally, state-wide, and nationally – all at the same time. The essential unit will be the local area group consisting of ‘skeins’ , or lines – that is groups of 3,4,5, or 6 people with a skein leader who recruits people who are – KNOWN ABSOLUTELY TO BE RELIABLE CONSERVATIVES. This will be the crucial constituting element of the Party – and the point at which the Party succeeds or fails. We are not trying to build a ‘BIG TENT’ party but an Excellent Tent party. A small group of people, highly committed to a project, can have a tremendous impact in a general population – Float like an F-16 , sting like a battleship.
An Excellent America Party will be required to be responsible for – managing MONEY – among other objectives. That includes operating the party at the lowest cost possible – as a demonstration of our honest intent to control MONEY instead of letting MONEY control us! There will be no celebration events at the Fontainebleau in Miami , or cruises in the Aegean. We are hitch up your britches and make Honest, Effective Government happen folks. Maybe a national backyard barbecue ‘get together’ would be our trademark event. I’m sure we could find enough volunteers for that!
How will the ‘skein’ leaders be chosen? This is the pump-priming difficult part that is NECESSARY to end up with a worthwhile organization. There is no easy, quick solution. It will take initial, hard face-to-face work. Online meetings will be held- locally on a schedule that local people think is correct, with a minimum number of meetings required annually by the Party. With people interviewing new applicants for membership where will the quality control come from? Be prepared to be Zooming online – a lot! The induction process will involve interviews, checking NEUTRAL references and having each applicant WRITE OUT ON PAPER his/her understanding of ‘conservative’ (Good,Better,Best) , of American history, and the Reality of Goodness in which we find ourselves.
We will be careful to remember that the Rats, vipers, weasels and scorpions (aka Democrats or liberals, progressives, elites as they like to camouflage themselves) are out there itching for any chance to ruin and destroy whatever they touch. Excellent America will be their mortal enemy – IN FACT.
