Respect for Knowledge, Personal Excellence and Independent Schools

Why do we have a federal Department of Education? If Americans are intelligent people they should be able to create and manage schools for their children without ‘help’ from the federal government, right? If they are not intelligent enough to run their own schools what is the point of having federal money thrown away at daycare warehouses for kids?

When people first came to this country they naturally started educating their children at home, with tutors, at church or in private schooling arrangements. Those early colonists set an example and tradition for America of serious commitment to an informed, intelligent citizenry. ‘Public’ schools came along later when the colonial population was increasing and some people wanted local schools to take care of their children, and maybe teach them something, during the work day. The public school system, that has now become a monster, should never have been allowed to start in the first place. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries public schools built a record of reliability and accomplishment – thanks to the patience and sacrifice of a teacher corps that lived the Conservative principles of Respect for Knowledge and Personal Excellence. As America became steadily more prosperous people made the old mistake of thinking they were on easy street and didn’t need to continue with those conservative principles, they could be successful in big, bustling America without all of that OLD fashioned stuff. We are a long way down that easy street and 37 trillion bucks in debt along with a raft of gigantic, unnecessary problems and ‘leaders’ who are flailing around trying to hide their non – competence.

Over the past 100 years we have watched the steady decline of the government (public) schools all around our country. The slow deterioration has allowed people to – lower their expectations without getting angry and demand changes and choices. Each new report about another unbelievably bad performance failure in one school or another, or another is merely thrown on the pile of older reports. We are reaping the failure to maintain private schooling as the normal way to educate kids. It is disturbing to note that many people seem to be oblivious of the fact that a slight decrease in quality of teaching and learning this generation will lead – necessarily – to further decline which will end in disaster for our society. It is no good for people to dismiss the problems and delude themselves that everything is okay – nothing to see here folks, while the ship sinks lower year after year.

After decades of education ‘reform’ and various experimental teaching methods amounting to little improvement overall we need to open education up to private school initiatives and find out that there is a better way. It has been here all along and the children in our country have a right to get the best education possible without having bureaucrats interfere to maintain the almighty government public school system. A federal bureaucracy with thousands of employees is no match for the MILLIONS of parents and CONSERVATIVE citizen taxpayers who are perfectly able to create and operate excellent schools. Long years of decline in student achievement and increase in student problems have finally gotten Americans to the point of paying attention and preparing for action. We can give those teachers who are stuck in public schools the opportunity to rid themselves of teachers union mendacity and show children what Respect for Knowledge is all about. We can invite parents to step forward to their responsibility to – visit the classrooms their children are in, go to their private school administration meetings, turn OFF the television at home and participate in getting their kids WISED UP.

The day is coming – as soon as possible – when we will see the federal Department of Education terminated and watch as the achievement of ALL children gets going on an EVER UPWARD path to a future of Great Goodness. The ratmob’s plan to ‘transform’ America into a Loser Land will be terminated when parents and grandparents, neighbors and concerned citizens make private schools the national norm. We can make it easier with a National Conservative Party made up of people who are ready to march forward, uphill to accomplished intelligence rather than wander down to failure and disaster. Our reward will be the Thank You we get from our children in the years ahead.
